OAHAS PRIDE PARADE PUPPET
The Ontario Aboriginal HIV/AIDS Strategy (Oahas) and Red Pepper Spectacle Arts partnered to create the Oahas parade float for Toronto PRIDE 2015. Throughout May and June 2015, we worked with a number of enthusiastic and dedicated youth, volunteers, and community members, who put their hands together to work collaboratively on this major creative project.
Sessions where we collaboratively built the float took place every Wednesday for two months, in Red Pepper's Studio, leading up to the Pride Parade on June 28th. Beyond the Pride Parade in Toronto, the eagle puppet will participate in Pride Celebrations in Six Nations in 2015 and Thunder Bay in 2016. Special thanks to Oahas for making this happen.
